Bonfire Night
Bonfire Night is celebrated by Great Britain citizens and some Commonwealth countries on the 5th November. The event is dedicated to the bonfire and fireworks, and that was exactly what happened last Friday in Romania, at Crowne Plaza Hotel.

In Great Britain, Bonfire Night is also called Fireworks Night and it’s associated with the tradition of Guy Fawkes Night. Guy Fawkes was one of the Catholics from England who planned the Conspiracy against Gunpowder in 1605. He wanted to remove the protestant government from the country by blowing up the House of Parliament, while King James I together with protestant aristocracy were inside. Guy Fawkes was arrested in the morning of 5th November after a warning anonymous letter. Bonfire Night commemorates the plot by burning a puppet representing Fawkes, which is the climax of the event.

All Veritas personnel attended the event enjoying the warmth of their families and the bonfire. However, the fireworks were the attraction of the night. Still, we mixed pleasure with work as some of Veritas people ensured the safety of the ambassadors and other officials present at the ceremony. To sum up, we all like to thank Light into Europe NGO for organizing such a joyful night with children playing around the fire and families socializing while having a barbeque, delighted by the fireworks. They also manage to raise a substantial sum so as to develop the full potential of Romanian sensory impaired children and young people to lead independent lives.
“Dear John,
A very special note of thanks for your help this year with our Bonfire night celebrations. We do hope you and your team enjoyed the event as much as everyone else did, thank you for the Veritas caps for the kids and of course for the sponsorship, without this the event would have not been viable. Thank you John for pledging the same support for next year’s Bonfire Night, it is so good to know that you are with us on this journey, we are helping so many sight or hearing impaired children and young people enjoy a new way of living and taking part in events like this is so special for them and just one of the many ways we are changing lives.
Stan Platt – Light Into Europe.”
